Swindon to Didcot, April 2006
(Extra pictures and video added 29th October 2006)

In the 1940's, Doreen Stevens (nee Spackman) was a signalwoman on the M&SWJR at Collingbourne and Savernake. Prior to that Doreen worked at Steventon just to the west of Didcot. Twenty or so years ago, Adrian Vaughan wrote three excellent books about his time as a signalman. In the 1960's, Adrian worked in signal boxes between Swindon and Didcot. Adrian also mentions the M&SWJR in the books.
This journey along the line from Swindon to Didcot in 2006 highlights what used to exist 50 years ago.
