MSWJR 4-4-4T No.18 passsing Northam Junction with a 2-coach passenger train about 1910. No.18, and her sister No.17, were intended for the fast through passenger trains, but were poor steamers and also slipped badly when starting with heavy loads, so were relegated to the less onerous services.
