Amazingly the weed infested track on the left was still in operational use when the photo was taken as Dowdeswell remained open for goods until October 1962. Entrance to the two siding yard was just beyond the end of the platform. Presumably served by a Cheltenham - Kingham goods the train would have to propel back to Andoversford after shunting duties at Dowdeswell.
